Switchboxes

All switchboxes are manual switching units that have been designed to enable inaccessible points and assets to be monitored and hard wired back to a safe position.

Switchboxes and switching units require no external power supply and they make use of the constant current supply available in all portable data collectors and vibration analysers. They are supplied in IP65 construction for harsh environments and are also available in stainless steel construction for the food industry.

All accelerometers are glanded into an enclosure and the terminations are completed in screw terminals.

These units can also be supplied with various signal conditioners enabling the units to be connected into an IO option on a PLC whilst enabling the site service engineer to take readings via their portable data collector.

The number of channels per enclosure ranges from 2 up to 64. Channel selection is achieved with a rotary switch / switches housed in the front panel located inside the enclosure. All channel numbers are marked out on the identification panel inside the panel door.

We currently can supply four types of signal conditioners that can be connected directly into the IO of most PLC / SCADA based systems. These are as follows:-

  • 8006 unit
    • 100mV/g constant current accelerometer input
    • 4-20mA proportional to velocity or acceleration output
    • Output range as follows:-
      • 0-25mm/s velocity
      • 0-50”g” acceleration
    • Low pass filter – 3dB @ 1kHz or as specified
    • DIN rail mounting

  • 8065 unit
    • Tri-output vibration interface module
      • Output no.1. – RMS velocity output (ISO 10816-1) 0-10VDC proportional
      • Output no.2. – Enveloped “g” 0-10VDC proportional
      • Output no.3. – Raw AC signal for connection to a portable data-collector
    • 100mV/g constant current accelerometer input
    • DIN rail mounting
  • 8066 g-mac unit

The g-mac unit can be configured to give a large signal when small high frequency variations are present. These high frequencies are indicative of bearing and gear problems but usually go undetected because they can get swamped by the overall vibration signal.

    • Constant (ICP®) current or voltage accelerometer input configurable for 50 or 100mV/g units
    • Front panel BNC with buffered native accelerometer signal
    • Bias voltage monitoring LED on the front panel for easy status checking
    • Internal filters 12dB/octave
    • Low pass filters @ 1, 3.5 or 5Hz
    • High pass filters @ 2, 10 or 100kHz
    • Acceleration pk-pk in 10, 20, 40 & 80”g” ranges
    • Velocity RMS in 10, 25, 50 & 100mm/s ranges
    • “g”-pk response delay selectable at 120 or 1200ms

  • 8066 g-macD

The g-macD unit can be configured to give a large signal when small high frequency variations are present. This unit also has analogue and digital outputs for PLC’s and industrial controllers

    • Digital velocity and peak outputs available as RS485 (Modbus)
      • Up to 16 g-macD addressable per loop
      • Simple two wire connection between each g-macD and the host computer
    • Constant (ICP®) current or voltage accelerometer input configurable for 50 or 100mV/g units
    • Front panel BNC with buffered native accelerometer signal
    • Bias voltage monitoring LED on the front panel for easy status checking
    • Internal filters 12dB/octave
    • Low pass filters @ 1, 3.5 or 5Hz
    • High pass filters @ 2, 10 or 100kHz
    • Acceleration pk-pk in 10, 20, 40 & 80”g” ranges
