Material Inspections

DMS uses state of the art vibration analysis equipment to monitor rotating & reciprocating equipment. The hand held data-collectors utilise web based software enabling quick and effective analysis from anywhere in the world. We currently use “bluetooth” technology in our equipment to improve the data response time.

Frequency of vibrations are measured in detail to determine if the vibrations are indicating equipment deterioration or an impending defect. DMS use FFT (Fast Fourier Transformation) analysis software to determine defect frequencies for all applications.

Material & Engineering Research Institute

Over the years, DMS have built an excellent working relationship with the Material & Engineering Research Institute of Hallam University based in Sheffield.
During the years we have been involved in various investigations into gear and shaft failures, which eventually requires material testing to assist in this analysis

The Material and Engineering Research Institute (MERI) is a dynamic interdisciplinary research institute dedicated to addressing industrial problems through the application of fundamental science and engineering.

Our experienced team has a highly successful track record applying cutting edge research to find innovative solutions to industry problems. The quality of our research has been confirmed by the results of the national Research Excellence Framework (REF) 2014, where 56% of the submitted research received the prestigious 4* and 3* rating as world-leading and internationally excellent.

From material analysis to infrastructure management our solutions generate real competitive advantage. Our research and consultancy activities are supported by a large advanced equipment base, ranging from the latest electron microscopes to high performance computing hardware.
